Manager, Strategic Deal Desk (Tableau) will be the strategic lead responsible for educating and training sales managers and Strategic Deal Desk analysts and/or specialists on the art of reviewing and structuring creative deals. As a manager, you will support and mentor a team of Strategic Deal Desk analysts and/or specialists, partner closely with stakeholders within the Strategic Business Practices organization on best-practices, and provide on the spot creative deal structuring solutions to enable effective order execution.
The Manager of Strategic Deal Desk
must have a solid grasp on team development and mentorship, value based pricing, contract negotiation, contract creation, navigating internal processes, and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Review highly complex deals on behalf of management and provide real time feedback/approval for the deals back to the executive sales teams
Apply best practices and guidance towards customer pricing and contract terms
Manage, mentor, and motivate a small team of analysts and/or specialists
Educate and support Strategic Deal Desk individual contributors on deal structuring and negotiating contract business terms.
Shepherd deals through internal processes from contract negotiation, contract creation, contract approval and order execution.
Engage with Product Management and Product Marketing teams to build knowledge of product set and roadmap and communicate information to Sales organization
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required
5 years of pricing strategy, deal support or sales finance experience
Relevant pricing experience with demonstrated track record of success and advancement
Analytical background with excellent problem-solving skills
Highly effective communication skills, including written and verbal
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively to drive results
Capable of explaining concepts clearly and credibly across all levels of the organization
Desired Skills/Experience:
Advanced degree a plus (i.e. MBA or equivalent experience)
Previous customer facing Business Development/Sales experience a plus
