Learning Manager - Marketing & Sales
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our North American offices and will support learning agenda projects across a full range of subject matter by the marketing and sales team.
Marketing & Sales (M&S) is a large and growing practice that includes nearly 1,000 colleagues around the world who serve clients on commercial topics. McKinsey's marketing & sales practice is the largest marketing consultancy in the world. As a growth engine for many clients, marketing and sales are important functions for our clients and have a very important role within the firm.
You will serve as a thought partner to the functional learning leader and the entire M&S learning team. The role will work closely with the practice's global people leader, M&S learning program sponsors, and the director of practice operations. You will be expected to develop excellent working relationships across the regional and service line leadership teams as well as broader client capabilities learning community, ensuring that the best content is being leveraged and practice needs are being met.
What You'll Do
You will support and own multiple projects with a focus on supporting the delivery of successful capability building across tenure groups.
In this role, you will support Marketing & Sales (M&S) practice's strategy by defining recipe-based learning journeys across tenure groups for 2-3 M&S priority focus areas, for example service lines, growth platforms and priority initiatives. In those areas, you will define skills progression and markers, set learning expectations for each impact level and define a learning journey. You will develop recipe and solution-based learning assets to develop capabilities.
You will design and relaunch M&S upper tenure/L3 program. This will include adopting and deploying centrally developed client capabilities L3 program on entrepreneurship, risk and personal value proposition according to the M&S practice needs. You will shape and launch the CEO counselling program for the M&S leadership group on how to be true client counsellors and develop as well as implement end-to-end M&S L3 learning journey.
You will ensure best in class delivery of all M&S learning programs across North America. You will support M&S Americas operations and professional development teams to deploy regionally focused learning programs for example cohort days and people skill learning.
You will lead the M&S learning faculty pool growth and incentivization initiative establishing best-in-class processes. You will work with global client capabilities and firm learning team to support development of firm-wide best practices for faculty pool growth. You will also work with M&S global professional development team to increase M&S faculty pool and develop M&S faculty contribution incentivization/recognition structure.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree with excellent academic record
5 years of experience, ideally in a professional services environment, with learning and development and/or talent management experience
Strong leadership skills, including exceptional problem-solving, communications and project management skills
Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in event/program design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Sound judgement, strong integrity and fairness in dealing with people
Strong sense of team spirit, entrepreneurial and pragmatic way of working
Ability to be discrete when counseling consultants on their professional careers and providing feedback
Excellent attention to detail and very organized
