National Sales Manager cardiovascular

In this role you will be responsible for leading the Eliquis salesteam.

The landscape of anticoagulant care in the Netherlands is rapidly changing. The change is due to the increased upcoming of the class of Direct Orals Anti-coagulants (DOAC'S). Eliquis is a DOAC. This restructure involves adaption by multiple stakeholders f.i.; physicians, health care organizations, pharmacists, thrombosis clinics, health insurance companies, government and patient organizations.

We need a leader with a field focus, who can lead his team through change, be a people manager pur sang, develop and execute the optimal sales strategy, closely cooperate with the medical-, access- , and (multichannel) marketing team, and do so in a successful alignment and cooperation within the Pfizer-BMS Alliance that is worldwide and locally in place for the co-promotion of Eliquis.

The cardiovascular team is part of the Business Unit Innovative Medicines NL. You will report directly to the Business Unit Director.

Main responsibilities


Develop and implement the national and local sales strategy
Ensure reaching sales target goals on Eliquis
Lead and coach a team of 7 Key Account Managers (KAM)
F.i.: Using tools like a:coach, CRM system, Sales data analyzer, remote detailing, Rep triggered emailing, f2f visits, accountplans, bonusplan etc.
Ensure appropriate training
Co-lead the salesteam at the Pfizer side of the Alliance
Guarantee a framework within which your team-members can execute their tactics based on strategy.
Guide and coach your team on the above on a day-to day basis
Lead and implement the further optimization of multi-channel innovations and Key Account Management
Closely align with all internal stakeholders within the Alliance.
The full Alliance team consist of around 30 people


Desired experience and skills


Bachelor or master of science or arts
Minimum 7 years successful experience in a pharmaceutical company in 2 or more of the following departments; sales, marketing, medical, or market access.
Experience in cardiovascular and/or anti-coagulant care is preferable
Proven skills that demonstrate a strong understanding of dynamics in the Dutch Healthcare system, preferably within cardiovascular and/or anti-coagulant care (relating to, HCP-networks and Societies, intra/extramural collaborations, reimbursement system/HICs)
Experienced in Key Account Management
Demonstrated capability to analyze facts and figures to improve strategy and/or tactics
Ability to cooperate with different functionalities to improve Sales Force Outcomes
Strong networker, motivator and teambuilder

Track record as successful people manager. (Candidates with strong development profile and/or examples of people management talent might be considered (in case other desired experiences and skills are available in abundance)
Ability to balance diplomacy with assertiveness.

Good coach
Hands-on mentality
Excellent (verbal & written) communication skills, ability to adapt communication style and content to a wide variety of audiences
Fluent in Dutch and English language (verbal and written)
