Summary:
The Sales Operations Specialist supports the Miller Manufacturing Sales Department in meeting company sales and margin goals, facilitating development and driving implementation of new processes, tools, reports and communications to assist the sales program’s success. This position monitors sales, records sales data, and assists in sales meetings. The Sales Operations Specialist also assists with customer and sales research, pricing approval forms, point of purchase and marketing requests, spreadsheet and database help and support, as well as other similar tasks.
Essential Functions:
Works closely with Sales Team in meeting company sales and margin goals as stated in the territory plans and business plan, facilitating new processes, tools, communications, training and methodologies to ensure sales program’s success across teams and departments’ company-wide and addressing customer requests as needed.
Works with the Sales Team and Customer Service team to resolve accounts receivable disputes by researching invoices, bill of ladings, proof of delivery, and packing slips, etc.
Develops strategic reporting for analysis on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year end basis using Tableau, AgData, and M3. Runs supporting documents needed to track territory goals.
Supports the Sales Team initiatives related to customer meetings and trade shows and attends shows as needed.
Provides support to Director of Sales and helps with other miscellaneous projects as needed, based on experience.
Maintains Sales Policies and Procedures to ensure information is reviewed annually and reflective of current policies and processes.
Works with sales team to complete customer master form changes, price changes, custom label process, trade show information, point of purchase, marketing requests, and other similar items.
Assists Sales and Marketing on forecasting discrepancies and bottom up forecast tracking of new items.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one to three years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office suite and experience with a robust computer system.
Must be proficient with Excel.
Database experience preferred.
Proven executive and sales support experience.
Familiarity with farm/fleet chains, animal health, farm and pet distributors and/or national hardware chains is preferred.
Proficient and accurate reporting skills.
Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, vendors and management; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
Group presentation skills.
Handle information deemed sensitive by management in a confidential manner.
Ability to travel as needed.
Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
