Career Mission's Chief Executive Officer, Harrison Barnes, discussed the importance of making your life and career more rewarding by giving, sharing, and contributing rather than by taking. Harrison believes that the some of the most successful people in the world are those who are masters of sharing.
Often, you find people who are unhappy and constantly emotionally and financially challenged. As a general rule, you will notice that such people lack in the habit of sharing, they are centered on their own benefits, and never really see the good of others. Even if they succeed, their success is never long lived. For instance, most businesses are started by people who have dreams only for themselves, not for their customers. They dream about how much money they can earn from the business and their independence. It hardly occurs to them how the business will provide a really good and high-value service or how it will help people do or be something better than they have ever done or been before. On the contrary, truly successful people are those whose greatest objective is to focus on how much ‘they’ can contribute to others.
In conclusion, Harrison states that your lives can be transformed if you concentrate on what you can give and not on what you can take. When your actions are to impart and help others you will do far better than if your actions are always about helping you alone. The more you concentrate on yourself and your own needs, in most circumstances, the worse you will end up doing. People love and trust those are focused on contributions. They want to do business with you, they want to employ you. Hence, the more we share and give of ourselves, the more fulfilled our lives will become.
