Shell Mobility represents the single largest customer-facing business in the group serving more than 30mln mobility and over 250,000 Fleet customers per day through 500,000 service champions in over 44,000 sites across 70 countries. As RDS looks to the future, Mobility is critical to establish Shell as The Low Carbon Leader, with ambitions to be the no. 1 mobility and convenience retailer, with the world’s leading EV charging network and lead in business and goods mobility platform.

Achieving our ambitions will necessitate placing customers at the heart of our business, treating every interaction as a chance to bring our purpose to life to making people’s journeys better. We’re evolving from ‘fuels retailer’ to ‘mobility retailer’- innovating to meet our customers’ changing expectations around convenience, product quality, digitalization, and service. This includes continuing to improve the quality of our current products while expanding our alternative energy mosaic (LNG, hydrogen, EV charging and biofuels).

Within this business, Shell Nederland Verkoopmaatschappij is operating a network in NL of around 500 Mobility (formerly known as Retail) sites, which serve both B2C and B2B customers. The network consists of 300 RBA sites and 200 Dealer sites. The Dealer network consists of multiple multi-site Dealers, as well as many single site Dealers.

The Territory in the North-East part of NL, holds 40 sites, of which 18 are linked to one multi-site account.

What’s the role?

The Territory Manager (TM) plays a crucial role in implementing Mobility's five ambitions. The TM needs to coach the Dealer to achieve the highest financial performance and you need to balance the interest of Shell and the Dealer.

The Dealer market in NL is increasingly competitive, i.e. as a result of declining demand for traditional fuels, and Dealers are looking to compensate their loss of income and the market has become far more competitive and transparent than ever before. To defer from this pressure and to defend/attract Dealers with Shell, there is a clear need to support Dealers to extract more value from operational excellence, training, procurement and their shops. In addition, you need to coach on the HSSE and operational standards on site, you also need to manage the interfaces between the third parties, distribution, marketing, IT and the Fleet Solutions department.

The TM do site visits in his geographic territory and having regular 1-1’s with Dealers to discuss the volume, HSSE and operational performance.

Specific accountabilities:


Maximizing Dealer Sales potential whilst protecting Shell's interests, through contract management (both for ongoing contracts as renewals) and coaching and motivating the Dealers.
Deliver Sales & Operations targets through regular reviews and appropriate action plans.
Develop and deliver annual Dealer sales targets and plan for the Territory.
Strengthening and develop the implementation of the Dealer Value Propositions (eg through Future Fuels, ‘bio’ elements, Supply Chain, marketing innovations) for Dealer “stickiness” and overall profitability
Manage and maintain positive Dealer relationships, supporting Dealers to achieve and maintain top class site performance (including counseling to underperforming sites).
Ensure Dealers implement all areas of the Customer Commitment and ensure compliance with the Site Operations/HSSE standards, contracts and manuals.
Ensuring that Dealers' actions do not damage Shell's Reputation.
Ensuring that the Dealer trains and develops their staff and understands the importance of people in delivering the Customer Commitment.
Manage Shell’s credit risk in collaboration with the Credit Analyst


What we need from you?


A Bachelor’s degree
Commercial Acumen to influence the business relationship
Strong analytical skills to understand the P&L of Shell and retailer to coach them to a higher level
Proficiency with excel
Driving license is required
Dutch language is required
