nJob SummaryThe Sales Manager is responsible for optimizing Marriott’s share of revenue and room nights from a primarily reactive source of customer inquiries related to group, meeting, and extended stay requests.  Inquiry sources include phone, Internet and referral requests.  The position’s primary sales functions are facilitated via inside sales modes.Job TasksnResponds to telephone and Internet inquires/requests for group, extended stay and catering business in a timely manner and with proper phone etiquette.  Address customer questions and concerns during initial call by use of active listening.nQualifies each business opportunity and suggest Marriott brands and products which are in line both with customer needs as well as hotel’s/apartment’s business needs.nEstablish and maintain complete and up-to-date lead information on each account in SFA and ESSIS to ensure accurate reporting.nBuilds and maintains rapport with client throughout the buying process.nResponds to customer inquiries/requests in a timely manner.  Focuses on ways to improve overall buying processes with emphasis on ease of doing business.nProcesses all leads in a timely manner.  Monitors, updates and communicates lead status to the appropriate parties.nMaintains open communication with properties, sales offices and markets as needed regarding lead status. nPerforms consistently in the area of sales, meeting production goals each period/quarter/annually.nManages day to day needs of Sales Coordinator, providing performance feedback as coach and mentor in developing skills and addresses performance issues accordingly and maintains communication with Leadership regarding performance.nKeeps Leadership informed of trends, opportunities, market changes as needed.n Job Skills/CompetenciesMhrs/Rhrs/Cfr/Execu Stay Business Strategies And Cultures.nMarriott Group contracts and legalities.nGroup and Extended Stay business needs of each of Marriott's Brands.nMicrosoft Office, SFA, Goldmine, Oscar etc.nProduct knowledge of hotels and apartments both domestic and international.nCommunicationsnUses active listening to ensure effective interactions with others.nDelivers clear, evenly paced presentations.nTailors message to appropriate audience.nProvides effective written communications - both formally and informally.nUses technology appropriately when delivering presentations.nFinancial AcumennArticulates to the customer the financial benefits of a proposal as it pertains to the customer’s business objectives.nNegotiationnNegotiates terms and conditions, commitments and customer issues that enhance the sales opportunity and business relationship.nInfluences customer decisions that create mutual “wins.”nSales ProficiencynDemonstrates selling skills e.g. objectives, benefits, features.nRelates customer needs to product capabilities.nIs an effective “closer.nPrevious Position ExperiencenSales Coordinator – National Group SalesnExecutive Meeting ManagernSales Manager – Hotel or ExecuStaynAccount Manager – Hotels, EST, RSOnSales Coordinator – Hotel, EST, RSOnCatering ManagernEvent ManagernConvention Services ManagernSimilar experience in external environmentnThis position offers health care benefits, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, accrued paid time off (including sick leave), life insurance, disability coverage, other life and work wellness benefits and may include incentive compensation.  Benefits and incentive compensation may be subject to generally applicable eligibility, waiting period, contribution, and other requirements and conditions.  Colorado Applicants Only  The salary range for this position is $39,413 to $73,701 annually.
