This unique sales and marketing role is responsible for relationship management of the independent agency channel in the Missouri market including prospecting, appointing, training and managing an established but growing agency base.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Build and execute effective agency management plans to achieve corporate goals in Missouri.
Manage sales objectives for growth, mix of business, and renewal retention.
Work with existing and prospective independent agencies to develop profitable sources of new business for long-term profitable growth.
Monitor agencies, identifying trends and opportunities for improving results.
Compile and evaluate competitor products, rates and activities and offer appropriate recommendations.
Maintain sales administration responsibilities through timely reporting and expense management.
Provide and coordinate critical training and support to agencies.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of P&C experience; including comprehensive knowledge of industry practices, company and agency operations and insurance distribution channels
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships and influence business partners at all functions and levels in the agency
Ability to apply concepts of insurance financials to own territory assignment and in consulting with agencies
Clearly and effectively present ideas and information, both written and verbal, to internal and external business partners
Ability to take responsibility for actions and outcomes, manage to territory and regional goals, and persist despite obstacles
Self-sufficient and able to work productively in a remote setting
Successful management of customers in a remote environment
Strong technical and underwriting background in personal lines
Requires up to 30% travel
