We are seeking to recruit a curious Key Account Manager (m/f/d) , full time, to join the Commercial Team at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland, near Cologne.

The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland is one of the key sites in Shell's Global portfolio. The total site size has 17 million tons per annum crude oil procession capacity with up to 3.000 staff being employed on site.

What the role is?

Energy transition is a buzzword almost everyone can relate to, but what does this mean for Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland? Join the Commercial Team in Rheinland and actively shape the future role of our site during the energy transition.

Take responsibility and actively manage existing key accounts in a variety of contracts including sales, purchase, and asset contracts. Current contract counterparties are mainly chemical industry players, defined logistic partners as well as Shell entities other than Shell Deutschland GmbH.

Area of impact does include contract governance, contract management and contract operations, assuring compliance of activities and documentation throughout necessary tools and systems.

Drive the commercial strategy and contractual implementation as part of a deal and negotiation team. Excellent commercial acumen, market knowledge, competitive intelligence, as well as the ability to create collaboration opportunities with other industry players will guide you through development and implementation of a holistic commercial strategy striving towards exchange of new, more sustainable products and feedstocks with our customers and partners.

You will be working on various challenging, unstructured, and non-standard questions that have a high relevance to the business together with multi-cultural teams from different businesses within the Shell organization.

Accountabilities:


Being the commercial and operative counterpart in Shell for all 3rd party product and asset contracts for Manufacturing Germany including purchase contracts (mainly utilities) Full responsibility for several small/medium contracts which includes preparing and leading negotiations (with mandate)
Main goal is to operate and commercially optimise existing contract portfolio and establish business relationships with a strong focus to further develop new business opportunities.
Drive operational excellence in contract management with the goal to increase value or prevent value leakage for Shell.
Achieve and/or maintain highest customer satisfaction, supplier performance and contractual obligation management.
Proactive and continuous exchange of information and engagement with the stakeholder community in Rheinland and beyond (Businesses, Refinery operations, Economics & Scheduling, Trading Desks, Manufacturing, Service Centers, Tax, Legal, Credit, Finance, HSE)


What we need from you?


A university degree in business, engineering or similar field (Masters level)
Significant working experience with direct external party contact required
High degree of commercial acumen and enthusiasm to identify business opportunities
Entrepreneurial spirit, strong ability to tackle unstructured challenges, eagerness to start from scratch and develop future commercial opportunities in a structured way
Strong execution skills and a positive hands-on mentality
Negotiation skills, ability to achieve good outcome also in difficult situations
Ability to manage conflicts (internal and external), high persistency required
Stress resistance and ability to manage several topics at the same time, strong commitment to deadlines
Curiosity, flexibility, and interest in continuously learning new things
Willingness to gain a good understanding of refining processes and the downstream market in Germany
Fluent in English and German
