As a Technical Training Lead, you will oversee, design, plan, and provide expertise in the development of educational curriculum, content and programs that are aimed at safe growth and procedural excellence in transcatheter valve implantation. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and field education trainer for specified TAVI products and indications, educating new hire employees for safe procedural support. During new product development, you will consult with clinical, R&D, medical education, marketing and other procedural experts on the GFTD Team during the clinical trial phase all the way through to commercialization. **A Day in the Life**
You will maintain the highest clinical excellence expertise by spending time in the field supporting cases at least once a month. This is critical to maintain relevance and keep up with best practices, industry trends and customer needs
You will assist the Global field by educating on Transcatheter procedures for trial and commercial markets and new product launches
You will be a subject matter expert for the Medtronic SH business unit coaching TDS/TC/sales reps in the field for procedural excellence globally.
You will provide clinical & technical training of complex and alternative access procedures
You will provide advanced procedure training to field employees as appropriate
You will provide procedural training to field employees through classroom, skills labs, simulations, virtual and in-person case observation experiences
You will administer oral / written examinations to field employees for certification and competency validation
You will design and implement quality initiatives to promote positive procedure outcomes, including all mPXR reviews, product complaints & CAPA investigations (requiring review of procedure films, pre-procedure screening data analysis, interview of employees/customers and creation of written reports
Provide cross-functional representation and support to various team: Physician Education, Field Assurance, Quality & Regulatory, Sales, Marketing, R & D and Clinical Affairs,Legal Department
You will collaborate with other GFTD teammates to ensure consistent delivery of product & procedural training curriculum across the globe for all stages of new hire training, including BP1, BP2, Imaging Workshop, Imaging Preceptorship, Certifications & Sales training activities
You will collaborate with district and area leaders to ensure understanding of their geography specific market dynamics and learning needs, and modify product & procedural training programs to meet those needs
You will work with the Global GFTD & Global Clinical Mentor (GCT) Teams to ensure geo specific training plans are in place that include implementation of a Train-the-Trainer (TTT) model with certain district leaders and FCLs
You will maintain excellent communication and organization of the most up-to-date materials in a centralized location for country access. This will be critical to the success of a TTT hand-off model to countries outside of the US, so superb organizational, administrative & time management skills are necessary. As the program lead, you may also be responsible for all program management & facilitation activities
You will assist in the creation of advanced product & procedural training programs on a continual basis, assessing current field-facing issues, then creating & delivering workshops that are designed to proactively equip the field team to be product & procedural experts
Recognizing and understanding competitive products, industry trends and SH/CVG portfolio to include competitive training curriculum will be an important focus of your role
Staying current with therapy growth trends, society guidelines, and market dynamics will be critical to your successful assessment of future learning needs and recommendations for ongoing enhancements to curriculum
Other Educational Support & Program Management Responsibilities
Participates in establishing program learning objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets
Ability to travel with overnight stays approximately 50% or more of the time: international and weekend travel may be needed
Ability to work frequently across multiple time zones and off normal working hours
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
You will need a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 10 years experience in Sales, Sales Support, Clinical or Technical roles in healthcare and at least 2 years of experience in the field as a TAVR Therapy Consultant or Therapy Development Specialist supporting TAVR cases. (8 years with Advanced Degree)
Program management and workshop development/creation and execution to meet training needs
**Nice to Have:**
TAVI case support experience with Evolut R/ Evolut PRO or competitive devices
Interventional experience (guide wires, balloons, catheters, stents)
Cardiac surgery experience, including surgical aortic valve repair (SAVR)
Previous physician training experience
Previous medical device clinical trial experience
Medical imaging interpretation experience (Echocardiography, Computed Tomography, and X-Ray Angiography)
Interventional endovascular experience (endovascular aneurysm repair [EVAR] and/or thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair [TEVAR])
Direct patient care experience as a Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Registered Radiologic Technologist, Certified Surgical Technologist, or related
