The FATPOT Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the public safety technology segment. He/she develops a complete understanding of all the technical aspects of a sales opportunity and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working with sales managers and executives as the key technical advisor related to FATPOT solutions. The TSE must articulate how FATPOT solutions and technology deliver value to agency admin and technical stakeholders. FATPOT TSEs must establish credibility and trust, and develop relationships with customers that will promote opportunities to help them address and solve real issues. The TSE also communicates with customers, prospects, partners, and FATPOT/Ci to aid in the development of new products and features that meet customer needs more effectively.

Responsibilities
Take ultimate responsibility for the technical sales success of FATPOT customer solutions in assigned accounts.
Become an expert in understanding, articulating, demonstrating and teaching how FATPOT solution capabilities can help solve the problems and frustration customers are facing
Ensure technical details and dependencies related to customer opportunities are documented in a clear manner and are managed through to resolution through coordination with business analysts and development.
Develop and deliver high-quality product presentations targeting both technical and less technical audiences.
Assist sales in determining required components, interfaces, services, equipment, etc. required for successful and complete project definition and implementation.
Key responder to RFP/RFI and other technical requirements, inquiries, and solutions. Focus on quality and accuracy of information/response by effectively coordinating with all appropriate stakeholders and ensuring timely completion.
Effectively transition pre-to-post sales customer relationships according to FATPOT post-sales handoff processes.
Communicate new features and enhancement requests to Engineering
Travel to potential and existing customer sites
Set up trial evaluations at prospective clients
Participate and represent FATPOT/Ci at seminars and trade shows
Requirements
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Education:
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in a sales engineering role, preferably in the Public Safety industry, but not required. He/she must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses. Candidate must be organized and critical thinking, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches to solving customer problems.
Proactive attitude, and a desire to drive to a technical win with new customers
Relationship building skills and the ability to cultivate technical champions within FATPOT customer base
Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
Team player with a customer-focused attitude
BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or related field
3 years of technology experience (in software or development tools) as a Sales Engineer, Software Engineer, Development Manager or Project Manager
Strong knowledge of Windows OS and SQL Server. Unix or AS/400 platform knowledge also preferred.
The ability to travel 50-70% in support of sales activities
Customer training experience preferred - Public speaking experience preferred
Ideally will have developed a significant piece of software in C, C , or Java, ideal candidate will have at least 2 year of experience as a software developer
Location
This position may be based either in Bountiful, Utah in the FATPOT offices or in Florida at one of the sister company Communications International offices located in Vero Beach or Tampa Florida.
