Associate Mgr. BU Innovation
SUMMARY: The Associate Manager BU Innovation is a key contributor to the overall innovation team, responsible for leading cross functional teams in planning, execution, and analysis of innovation initiatives. The innovation role is responsible for developing new product or packaging ideas, managing the overall innovation pipeline, P&L creation and go to market strategies to achieve corporate and brand volume, profit and share objectives. This role will be working on innovation for the Pizza, Philly, and Snacking categories. Responsibilities: Support manager to develop innovation pipeline and innovation strategies for assigned foodservice brand and categories, Pizza, Philly, and Snacking that reflect the overall corporate and business unit goals. Analyze consumer, operator, and market data trends to identify insights and translate into innovation initiatives to drive results. Manage strategic customer initiatives with a focus on agility and speed-to-market.
Manage all types of innovation for Pizza, Philly and Snacking across all segments in Foodservice. Lead/participate in development and execution of product and packaging innovation projects including concept development, feasibility validation, product and packaging, business proposal and approval, project execution, operator/distributor sell in and tracking in-market performance. Manage innovation process in its entirety including forecasting with sales/channel team, benchtop sample reviews, attending initial production runs and final coordination of product launch including inventory builds and initial shipments. Work in our innovation project management (NPD), packaging (Tango) and specification system (MRS) to advance projects with the cross functional team. Work collaboratively with insights, Sensory, R&D, Culinary, Channel Development, SS&P/SS&E, and the BU to identify new ideas, build research and development plans, screen ideas and optimize our innovation offerings to meet consumer/operator needs and have a clear point of difference versus our competitors
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA or BBA preferred
Experience:2 years relevant experience. Marketing or sales experience preferred, but not required.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Special Skills: A highly motivated individual with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. A demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment is required.
Travel: 5 or more domestic trips per yea r
