What’s the role?

As Technical Sales Engineer Lead, you will be entrusted with the delivery of technical services in an effective and aligned way. Work closely with sales and customer to create insights and value customers required. The delivery of outstanding technical service is a real differentiator in the Marine Industry.

By supporting the journey to become a fully integrated solution provider, you have a real opportunity to play a key role and make a real difference.

More specifically, your accountabilities include:


Delivery of Shell Services like : Oil sampling, engine monitoring and scrap down analysis.
Delivering front line technical support to customers and vessels crew onboard.
Support customer facing activities, training of customers.
As part of the regional team, propose and implement innovative but pragmatic ideas to simplify and automate activities as much as possible.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis of product performance related claims.
Manage industrial OEMs approvals.
Support vendor management related activities.


What we need from you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Marine and technical knowledge


Degree/ Diploma - engineering (preferably in Marine) or chemistry or COC Class 1
Relevant technical experience which would include practical experience in the operation and maintenance of machinery plant, preferably gained in a marine or power generation environment, or as OEM service engineer
Proven analytical skills. Possess good computer skills in databases, spreadsheets, presentations
Knowledge on Marine Fuels including handling and management onboard vessel
Knowledge on Lubricants including used oil analysis and condition monitoring would be of advantage


Virtual Team working


Experience in working with virtual operational / technical teams would be an advantage


Communication skills


Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers internationally and in a virtual environment
Strong verbal and written capacity of Local and English language
Evidence of understanding how technology/technical services deliver commercial value would be beneficial
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Work with fellow team members to accomplish the overall goal of responding to enquiries within SLA
