challenging the norm. We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals to solve real world problems while having fun along the way. This role, Channel Sales Manager, is responsible to lead the team, our partners and our customers to highest levels of success.
What You'll Do at Pure
As a channel leader for Japan, you are expected to own the development and execution of channel strategies and team’s efforts to improve sell-through of Pure products.
Build the pipeline of Pure’s prospects through channel partners and distributors.
Recruit, enable and retain channel account managers in the team.
Set short & long term channel sales strategies
Develop positive relationships with senior management within strategic channel partner and distributors
Proactively leads a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones aligned with Pure’s business objectives
Align the team members to best-fit partner portfolio to assure the best complement
Diagnose training needs for partners and staff: sales standard methodologies, new product training, and all other training and support
Assure effective management of sales orders, status to partners and internal forecasts
Collaborate internally with marketing to drive region’s programs and events
Collaborate internally with senior management across sales, technical & support within the region
Leverage team insights and keeping tabs on competition, competitive issues and products
Travel 50% of the time
What You Bring to the Team
Demonstrated leadership of reseller and distributor channel management functions and teams, 4-5 years of prior team management required as part of minimal 10 years working with/within the Japanese channel & technology alliances community
Ability to assess, plan, and actively manage a territory team to achieve maximum revenue and efficiency BA/BS degree in business, marketing, software engineering, or similar
Ability to train and develop others to achieve their full sales potential
Excellent time management, communication and team-building skills
Desire to drive change, evangelize new technologies, and see customers succeed
Knowledge of the storage industry including Fiber Channel, NFS, and Enterprise Storage architectures
Strong English and Japanese language is required.
