Job Description:
This position will serve as an entry position into the Shell Polymers sales organization with the successful candidate eventually assuming an Account Manager position with a sales territory in the United States.
This role will screen incoming customer inquiry calls, routinely provide analytics of key PE market and industry segment reports to steer business growth opportunities within the Shell Polymers team. Responsible for supplemental support of the Shell Polymers commercial team. Serve as liaison to insure Polymers cross-functional business lines have line of sight to the customer/external business and commercial requirements. Develop broad understanding of Global Polyethylene (PE) Markets, including feedstock dynamics, competitive intel gathering, Supply/Demand balances and Global trade flows. A key aspect of the position is to provide support to the two Shell Polymers Regional Sales Managers and the Distribution Export Manager.
Accountabilities:
Support/ Work closely with the Distribution / Export Manager to optimize monthly transactional activities, such order execution, price entry, and coordination with Supply Chain group.
Support traveling Account Managers with sales and systems related needs.
Support the Shell Polymers Commercial Analyst for ad hoc tasks related records management, market reports and preparations for Bi-Weekly Sales Team meetings.
Assist in preparations for various team meetings (e.g. weekly team huddles, monthly HSSE meetings, bi-weekly sales meetings), including development of pre-read, meeting notes and logistics oversight.
Coordinate/Facilitate Shell Polymers Sales Team for Industry/Trade Show activities and other various Customer engagement events.
Field incoming Customer inquiry calls gather relevant information then direct to appropriate Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for further follow-up.
Establish direct contact with a sub-set of smaller PE Customers who can be serviced via Inside Sales and build-out the Inside Sales model.
Build customer relationships and promote Shell Polymers CVP.
Liaison support with Product Management to insure Polymers/PE customer product requirements are aligned with PE Marketing Plans.
Support the sales team by maintaining access to external databases and consultant reports used by the commercial team, along with relationships with external consultants and trade bodies (ACC, IHS, ICIS, Townsend, etc.).

Development Opportunities:
This role provides an entry into the PE business. Strong performance will lead to other opportunities within the team. It has no direct reports. Successful candidates would be eligible to grow into future roles in PE Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Supply and Logistics, etc.

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s degree; in Engineering or Chemistry is helpful, or other technical degree
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a related field
Previous customer facing experience,
Experience in market, company and supply/demand analysis
Basic knowledge of the polymer or petrochemical industry would be a plus.
Collecting, managing and analyzing data (customer and market). Ability to interpret the data and provide recommendations based on findings.
Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to advocate and inquire with the right balance to positively influence the team.
Self-starter, willing to accept initiatives and able to work independently.Strong Commercial acumen, interpersonal skills and customer focus is important.
