If you are a dynamic and motivated individual looking to take responsibility in a customer facing, global role in growing Shell Lubricant’s biggest and most exciting customers, then this opportunity in the Global Key Accounts (GKA) Marketing team is for you. GKA is home to around 60 of the most strategically and materially important global accounts within Lubricants, delivering consistent year on year growth. GKA Marketing is a critical part of the cross-functional team which delivers this value growth, and as an Account Marketing Manager you will play a critical role in this journey. Key stakeholders include; GKA Sales & Business Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Product Management, Global Sector Marketing and Regional & Local Marketing. Increasingly, integrated offers also mean effectively working with colleagues in New Energies, Mobility and the new Sectors & Decarbonisation businesses.

What's the role -

In this role you will be reporting in to the Consumer Road Sector Lead, and you will be responsible fora range of accounts across the GKA portfolio with an expected focus on Japanese OEMs. 10 -20 % of your time will be dedicated to other accounts or special projects. Specifically, as the accountable global marketing lead within Core Teams for selected accounts your role will include:


Development of account strategies & global end-to-end offers (both traditional lubricants and increasingly integrated cross-business Customer Value Propositions, sustainability, services, decarbonisation and digital offers), actively focusing on sector & customer insights to develop these
Working closely with OEMs and local markets to co-develop marketing programs (leveraging work from the Global Marketing Centre of Excellence where appropriate) to support Global Agreements, acting as the custodian of joint marketing programs. Actively uncover best practice, and seek to implement, share and replicate where feasible
Supporting commercial tender and business defend activities, pipeline (MYP) & deployment activities
Management of global marketing account responsibilities including; effective SP&A management, R&D planning support, ensuring a competitive and healthy product portfolio, and owning the customer specific packaging & labels initiatives within Shell
Working closely with colleagues in SBI to manage, deploy and drive value through customer sponsorship activities


What we need from you –

Your excellent people and communication skills will be vital in working collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of multi-cultural and multi-geographic stakeholders and teams, often under high pressure and commercially sensitive timelines. There is a needfor international and domestic travel with this role of around 20 % of the time. However, depending on critical business / tender activities there may be times when this is higher.

Furthermore, you will have:


A legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least 7 years’ experience in Sales and/or Marketing in OEM Automotive industry.
A demonstrated customer focused commercial mindset, understanding customer needs and developing /deploying competitive end-to-end proposals
Experience of working in a B2B environment within a competitive customer / OEM business culture, including the ability to balance and prioritise high value activities under pressure
Commercial acumen, and a proven experience in marketing or sales of lubricants products will be an advantage
Fluent Japanese language and exceptional native communication skills are a must for this role and previous Japanese OEM experience is preferable.


This is a global role, however there is an expected focus on Japanese OEMs, and the preferred location is North America (USA or Canada).
