UPS Capital is seeking a Development Representative who is responsible for identifying and qualifying opportunities that result in sales qualified leads. He/She uses available resources to research prospective clients, identify decision makers and proactively contact prospects by phone or email to identify business needs and create qualified opportunities that build the pipeline for the sales organization. He/She leverages technology to manage inbound and outbound prospect inquiries, effectively follow up on opportunities and build SQL volume. The Development Representative works collaboratively with their respective sales team to ensure a seamless handoff and positive customer experience.  
Responsibilities and Duties
Researches prospects to uncover critical supply chain facts that validate need for UPS Capital products and services
Identifies key decision makers in customers’ organizations and related contact information
Contacts prospects via phone, email or social media channels to confirm authority, need, urgency and ability to purchase
Increases the quality and quantity of qualified leads for the sales force resulting in stronger pipelines and increased revenue by fostering prospects, building trust and rapport that leads to opportunity
Follows up on and qualifies inbound customer inquiries from paid or earned media channels
Maintains knowledge of UPS Capital’s products and services to develop appropriate and compelling value proposals to potential customers
Maintains awareness of competitive environment and competitor’s offerings
Knowledge and Skills
Effectively solicits information using various information-gathering techniques
Demonstrates strong analytical, communication, problem-solving and time-management skills
Exhibits professional written and verbal communication skills/etiquette
Applies knowledge of customer business models and operating structures and offers sales solutions to support the customer’s strategic business objectives
Builds internal relationships with Business Development to drive new customer revenue
Ability to gather key information to update the CRM system
Previous sales experience (in person or over the phone) in one of the following areas: B2B, logistics, 3PL, or insurance - Preferred
Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
Previous outbound call experience - Preferred
Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel) - Preferred
Property Casualty Insurance experience - Preferred
