With Shell Recharge being present in more than 20 markets, we are already one of the largest EV charging companies globally. Just as we are the leaders in mobility retailing today, Shell aim to be the leader in EV charging services in the future, aiming to operate more than 500 thousand EV charge points by 2025 and 2.5 million by 2030 globally.

Although Asia - Japan is still in nascent stage of EV adoption, governments have announced their decarbonization plan with solid steps taken to promote electrification, which includes the transition from ICE to EV in transportation sector and a ramp up of EV charging service to support the transition.

The e-Mobility Manager will be responsible for the implementation of e-mobility strategy for Japan, establish the new business and grow it together with customers and partners. This is an exciting & demanding role to expand Shell E-Mobility business in Japan, strengthen Shell Recharge customer value proposition and contribute to Shell Group’s net carbon footprint ambition.

Accountabilities

• Responsible for the overall e-Mobility delivery for Japan, including C5 (EBITDA), charge point and customer experience of Shell Recharge.

• Based on regional strategy, develop and implement e-Mobility strategy in Japan for a sustainable, profitable long-term growth

• Responsible for identifying and realizing strategic growth opportunity based on Asia E-Mobility strategy, consumer insights and industry movements

• Establish and continuously improve delivery capability to achieve efficiency and superior customer experience, make sure 100% E&C and HSSE compliance

• Explore business model to integrate existing business with new business, leverage the strength from different Shell business units and maximize value for the group

• Lead senior management engagement with potential e-Mobility partners and ensures clear government advocacy plan

• This role will report to Asia E-Mobility GM

Key skills and requirements

· Solid knowledge and proven experience in E-Mobility industry. Experience of EV charging in Japan with fluent English is an advantage

· Commercial experience and great negotiation skills, sales or account management experience is preferred

· A combination of thinker and doer, result oriented, disciplined execution

· Open and learner mindset, able to seek out relevant new solutions to develop the future EV charging offers

· Strong data analysis and systematic thinking skills. Able to keep big picture in mind while deep dive to details

· Ability to identify key issues among complex problems and leverage resource beyond direct control.

· Ability to manage complex interfaces both internally and externally to create win-win outcomes for Shell and external partners
