Job Description:

What’s the role -

The Account Manager position is a key role in proactively engage and manage all aspects of the Shell Lubricant Sales objectives and initiatives at Walmart US. He/she will lead cross functional teams to deliver profitable growth objectives for the Pennzoil, Quaker State and Rotella brands. Identify new business opportunities outside of current portfolio i.e. New Energies, Mobility, etc. to expand relationship within Walmart corporate.

The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining close business relationships with Walmart merchandising team and other key stakeholders in the business. The successful candidate will engage the Category Management team to support business solutions & Challenger mindset of selling to provide robust industry updates while maintaining a strict firewall of customer specific category data. Engage Replenishment team to support robust monthly planning and purchase forecasting.

The Account Manager (Walmart) will work closely with ACC Sales, Marketing and Operations team to deliver seamless execution to the customer.

Accountabilities:


Deliver annual C3 and volume targets by driving sales growth through professional account management, strong internal and external communication, strategic planning, effective promotional plans, and creative thinking.
Build strong relationships with Walmart buyers in Automotive and Sporting Goods to become the key resource for: industry expertise, market share data, competitive activities, merchandising ideas, and promotional opportunities.
Engage Walmart buyer with specific product and/or brand opportunities to increase Shell value to Walmart - via growth strategies, category management and vendor consolidation.
Work closely with Channel Marketing to create initiatives that align with Walmart policies and practices. Perform financial analysis for promotional investments within MOA guidelines. Ensure these events align with Shell Marketing guidance.
Drive robust customer marketing plan utilizing all Shell assets available. Challenge internal stakeholders to explore new opportunities aligned with channel growth objectives, incorporate team members early in the process.
Drive optimal performance in Accounts Receivable, Pricing, Credit and Debt Collection. Challenge status quo.
Develop a strong understanding of Walmart’s supply chain and replenishment group in order to deliver a more efficient model. Develop a close working relationship with Plants and 3rd party suppliers. Plant visits, scheduled meetings and intra-week communication with LSC is a must to align functions to deliver Walmart’s aggressive On Time and In Full standards (OTIF).
Research best practices of other departments and non-traditional channels and take best practices back to our business. Create internal business cases for new products and ideas that contain solid profitability backing and detailed research to meet Walmart customers changing needs.
Optimize SD&A accruals and spending that will deliver volume and C3 targets. Drive Forecasting and Planning with Finance, Supply Chain, CPFR, and Demand Planning in understanding the business.
Work to satisfy customers’ next tier Sustainability goals for longer term outcomes as well as bring together an enterprise first offering for a broader solution to customer.


Skills & Requirements

What we need from you -


Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least a BS/BA degree in any field; MBA is an advantage.
Minimum of ten (10) years work experience in commercial role.
Must possess a Challenger mindset and be able to create and balance healthy tension in order to deliver business objectives.
Be able to maintain a long term-view outlook in order to drive overall success of the account. Quick wins are good but sustainable results are critical.
Successful managing a large National account with a proven track record for superior results.
Ability to handle ambiguity and complexity.
Ability to sell at all levels of the organization, both externally and internally. Able to work with and engage all cross-functional support groups to meet Customer needs.


*This role will include approximately 15% - 25% travel.

*Flexible work location between home and Bentonville office is an option.
