Our client is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to work out their home office anywhere on the East Coast.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for all engineering aspects of custom solution estimates and directly supports the development of sales by consulting directly with sales team members and their customers. This includes a wide variety of engineering projects involving investigation, concept design and development, testing for new and existing products as well as the facilitation of engineering proposals and estimates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work directly with Sales and Customers to determine special requirements or specifications for custom solutions including cost and time to delivery estimates.
Prepare technical proposals, compliance matrix, program and company history, and program status reports, customer service, overall project planning, resource coordination, and budgeting of engineering functions.
Create and provide prepared program estimates to customers.
Coordinate program level activities by managing several customer bids for the same program.
Work from a wide variety of specifications to facilitate the design engineering and drafting of complex to moderately difficult projects.
Responsible for handoff of proposal / design concept engineering to production engineers to expedite completion of project.
Lead multiple projects and develop cross functioning teams to facilitate timely completion of projects.
Develop and maintain solid relationships with key accounts and key decision makers.
Ensure on-going relations through contact and service, communicating sales objectives and facilitating the need for sales forecast input.
Travel and work with sales representatives at each account level, introducing new sales and major program initiatives and services in the field.
Monitor and report field intelligence. Keep sales and marketing team apprised of new developments involving the Company’s products, competitive activities, and trends in the marketplace. Continuously monitor technical advancements and trends in field through professional associations, publications, seminars and other authorized means.
Actively supports our commitment to Quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager – Technical Sales.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field and 1-2 years related experi e
nce in a fast paced o
rganization preferred.
Technical selling experience would be nice to have.
Project Management experience would be ideal.
Substantial knowledge technical and production capabilities, creative and innovative project solutions to close product sales and basic understanding of packaging engineering would be nice to have.
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and ethical leadership with strong abilities in relationship management with customers, vendors and employees at all levels.
Must have excellent analytical, math and organizational skills. Also, must have excellent written, negotiation, presentation and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of case center operations is a plus.
Must be proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Sales Force.com and other appropriate software.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
Must be willing to travel within and outside of the continental US, with or without advanced notice.
Must complete assignments within time frames specified by the Program Manager – Technical Sales.
