What we are looking for:
The US Oncology Training and Talent Development team is currently seeking a talented training professional who possesses the skills needed to ensure both the immediate and long-term success of our training organization. The selected candidate for this position will report into the Head of Oncology Training, with the primary responsibility of leading a team of Managers accountable for the strategic development of tumor specific training curricula utilized by the Sales Force including District Business Managers (DBMs), Institutional Tumor Specialists (ITS), as well as Community Product Specialists (CPS).

In this role, the Training Associate Director will work collaboratively across a fast paced and complex matrix organization including the Oncology Business Unit, WW Technology Training Solutions, and WW Design and Development Team. Specifically, the Associate Director will work in close partnership with colleagues from several functions (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, Medical, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to appropriately address business needs and ensure that we deliver on our objective of demonstrating value to both customers and patients while also improving how we work.
Primary responsibilities:
Hire, manage, and develop a high performing team of Training Managers accountable for developing and delivering tumor specific training curricula for the Oncology Sales Force.
Strategic leadership on the development of comprehensive sales training curricula focused on a specific tumor type for use during training classes, POAs and other national/regional/district meetings.
Strategic coordination across the Oncology matrix and cross-functional team to ensure all training materials meet the goals and objectives of both Sales and Marketing.
Ensure Training Manager's develop resources (e.g. materials, workshops, competitive job aids, etc.) that meet all regulatory, legal and compliance requirements for assigned individual projects and initiatives.
Strategic leadership for development and delivery of tumor-specific curricula to the Oncology Sales Force inclusive of: selling skills, clinical disease state knowledge, competitor and market landscapes, and the business of Oncology.
Assist department Head in managing tumor specific budgets ensuring financial objectives are met.
Collaborate with Oncology preceptors, Training colleagues, Sales and Marketing leadership consistently implementing results-focused, performance-based, standardized training and development processes.
Lead the working relationship with external vendors and internal personnel to ensure the successful design and execution of assigned training programs and projects.
Assess and analyze the effectiveness of assigned training programs and initiatives.
Identify and utilize innovative technologies to facilitate adult learning, and pull-through of both live and virtual training capabilities.
Participate and/or lead strategic initiatives across the Training Team and/or department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
Minimum of 5 years of Pharmaceutical customer facing experience required; minimum 2 years Account Management/Specialty Segment role preferred
Minimum of 2 years Oncology Sales Training or Product Management experience preferred
District Sales Manager experience preferred
Experience leading, coaching and developing a team required
Demonstrated strong Oncology product & disease state knowledge across multiple tumors
Experience operating in a complex cross-matrix environment and effectively connecting and collaborating with key matrix team members including Marketing, Sales Operations, Commercial Sales, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, & Compliance
Proven performance with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
Demonstrated ability to effectively and simultaneously manage multiple projects and vendors
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement key learning strategies and tactics
Demonstrated track record of developing self & others to drive and enhance performance
Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills, including previous experience leading POA and Training Workshops
Demonstrated problem solving and solutions-oriented leader
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel and Word and other applications
Ability to travel for multiple meeting engagements (e.g. Managers Meetings, National Plan of Action Meetings, various Training Initiatives, etc.)
