Our Inside Sales Associates are responsible for handling customer inquiries via phone and email, creating sales quotations, following up on large potential orders, entering purchase orders, and, as time permits, pursuing new sales opportunities.
It is expected that the person is this role be friendly and polite as excellent customer service is critical to being successful. The person also needs to enjoy helping and training both customers and independent outside sales representatives on our products and service.
Core Functions:
· Communicating with customers via phone and email, following up on leads.
· Understanding customers' Flooring or lumber needs and identifying sales opportunities.
· Answering potential customers' questions & sending detailed, clear, & concise follow-ups via email.
· Entering professional quotes and purchase orders via order management system (QuickBooks)
· Keeping up to date with product and service information and updates.
· Staying in regular communication with procurement & production teams to understanding material stocking positions and current lead times for shipping
· Staying informed about competing products and services.
· Upselling products and services when the opportunity is available.
· Researching and qualifying new leads via online lead generation services.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
· Two to three years' experience in a customer service or sales role
· Preference for experience in building products and/or construction. Experience with roofing or roofing products would be advantageous.
· Preference for ability to read construction plans and/or CSI specification documents.
· Ability to accurately measure distances and understand roofing diagrams.
· Able to read and understand English language with good verbal and written communication required.
· Candidate must be team player, collaborative, results oriented with good problem-solving skills.
