As the Director of Business Development, you will lead the development and execution of profitable growth strategies to support and enable the Managed Transportation team. In addition, you will maintain a committed focus on driving growth across multiple geographies and industries while evaluating and implementing sales initiatives to improve win rates. What you'll do on a typical day:
Partner with the VP, Business Development to execute the annual Sales Plan including establishment of both monthly and annual sales objectives; execute Sales Plan objectives with all the relevant business units and functional departments of the company
Build a pipeline and obtain sales growth goals; work to meet expectations of $100MM in Freight under Management, $3.5MM in Net Revenue, or $1M in EBITDA
Successfully manage customer needs to meet objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies
Identify and develop new customers for Managed Transportation products and services
Use knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies to analyze/evaluate the effectiveness of current sales, methods, costs, and results
Represent XPO at various trade shows, community events, and/or business meetings to promote the company
Quarterback key customer relationships with expectations to drive growth and new business development at an expected annual rate of $3.5MM in Net Revenue
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
7 years sales experience in the logistics & transportation industry
Experience with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
It'd be great if you also have:
Availability to work a flexible schedule including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends; travel as needed
Experience meeting and exceeding sales goals
Ability to work seamlessly with operations and execute initiatives
Strong ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally
