We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Capital Sales Specialist to promote Medtronics innovative imaging solutions to execute the companys vision of enhancing the lives of patients and their caregivers. The purpose of this position is to drive clinical interest, support trials, facilitate sales, and maximize utilization of installed Elevision IR and Elevision white light systems across the assigned Areas/geography by working closely with Sales & Marketing Management, Clinical Specialists, local Medtronic Advanced Surgical (Stapling, Energy) reps, Operating Room personnel, various surgeon specialties and hospital administrators.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop new potential customers, primarily via Capital purchases or leases, while developing physician champions for the Medtronic Advanced Visualization portfolio
Negotiate new account sales using established corporate guidelines.
Presentations to key account stakeholders which could include the following: Surgeons, Physician department heads, CEO, CFO, VP of Supply Chain, Nursing Managers, etc.
Understand leasing and alternative purchase programs.
Effective communication and collaboration with: Senior Director, Regional Manager, Territory Manager, Clinical Specialist, Marketing, Medical Director, Training/Education and all management teams across Medtronic Surgical Innovations.
Thoroughly understand product line features, benefits and proof sources of all Advanced Visualization products.
Establish excellent relationships with all surgeons across multiple Specialties (General, Colorectal, GYN, Bariatric, Thoracic, Breast/Plastics)
Establish relationships with hospital, ambulatory surgery, Biomed, and office personnel where Visualization procedures are performed or influenced.
Develop in-depth clinical knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of all surgical specialties involved in the Visualization space including: General, Colorectal, GYN, Bariatric, Thoracic, Breast/Plastics.
Teach physicians and nursing personnel how to use our products and be able to recruit surgeons for training programs/labs
Ability to maintain an updated Capital Pipeline as well as effectively manage a large geography.
Maintain administrative responsibilities for Salesforce.com that will provide timely and current information on their customers within their territory.
Consistently provide administrative requests from the home office such as salesforce.com documents, expense reports, sales reports, and other tracking requests.
Develop business plans and effectively present them in order to facilitate the purchase of our products.
Develop a thorough understanding and ability to communicate the reimbursement environment for our products.
Routinely update sales action plans and forecasts in the Territory Quarterly Review & Plan report.
Contribute positively to the sales team through communication and sharing.
Education Required
Bachelors Degree
Minimum of 7 years of sales experience and expert level knowledge of company products and services
Desired Skills & Experience
Excellent clinical selling skills and ability to build credibility with surgeons and OR staff
Previous successful Capital Sales selling experience
Experience selling to physicians teaching a new procedure and selling a new paradigm
Experience discussing reimbursement related to a medical device
Experience with prospecting for new business and cold calling
