Job Description:

This position is part of the Americas Lubricants Supply Chain Business Development team. This team is accountable for defining and implementing structural end to end supply chain developments in the region, including:


All asset investment projects
Assets closures and divestments
End to end network optimization
Development of new supply chain partnerships
Negotiation of 3rd supply/tolling agreements and joint ventures


The role suits a highly capable and ambitious individual with a blend of strong operational and commercial knowledge. The position offers leading roles in a broad variety of projects at different stages of the Opportunity Realization Process, from strategy definition to implementation. By the nature of the projects, this position offers high visibility to Shell Global Commercial senior leaders. It is essential for candidates to have strong project management experience, excellence in communication and influencing skills, extensive supply chain knowledge and strong personal drive to solve problems, overcome obstacles, and deliver results.

Responsibilities:


Lead long term asset and network strategic plans for base oil supply, lubricants manufacturing, and distribution
Identify, frame, and lead the implementation of investment and divestment opportunities
Assess “make or buy” opportunities and negotiating 3rd Party supply and toll manufacturing deals
Develop competitor supply chain knowledge and bring external perspectives to identify new opportunities
Develop long term asset network strategic plans:
Analyze and incorporate business requirements, industry trends, competitive landscape, and group strategy
Identify and assess improvement options, looking across the full supply chain (from base oil and raw materials inbound to customer delivery)
Evaluate options and relative benefits, including developing economic models. Analyze risks and sensitivities.
Engage key stakeholder, prepare materials, and lead Decision Review Boards to secure support and commitment to implementing the plans
Scoping and leading projects to deliver those plans:
Identify all critical enablers and activities (e.g., contractual implications, infrastructure requirements, GSAP/streamline changes)
Prepare Investment / Divestment Proposals
Implement Opportunity Realization Standards and Lubricants Project Management System for capital projects
Develop detailed implementation plans
Identify and secure required resources
Lead and co-ordinate implementation
Run Decision Review Boards and project follow up
Prepare and ensure effective hand-over to operations
Close project and ensure full benefits are delivered
Build and maintain relationships with regional lubricants supply chain, global experts, sales and marketing, and product managers to identify improvement opportunities
Be an active member of the global business development group and regional operation team, sharing best practices and providing support and specialist expertise in peer reviews
Ensure all projects are run in compliance with ORS and other applicable standard

Requirements:


Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Upcoming or recent completion of a top-tier MBA program
Bachelors degree in an area relevant to the role
Minimum five (5) years of relevant pre or post MBA work experience
Project management experience for capital and/or optimization projects is preferred
Wide knowledge of supply chain activities (sourcing, manufacturing, asset management, warehousing, distribution) is preferred
Demonstrated commercial behaviors (external focus, commercial mindset, delivery, speed, simplicity)
