As the A&D Account Manager you will develop a plan to call on new and existing accounts, identify customer needs and provide value added solutions, build new relationships with market influencers and partner with the sales team to support ongoing projects. The territory is the Washington, DC area and the client is looking for candidates with existing relationships in the target customer groups -- Architects, Designers, Engineers, General Contractors, Owners/Developers. You will be the brand ambassador for the company with these customers.
Responsibilities
Establish key relationships with leading area influencers. Including but not limited to: Architects, Designers, Engineers, General Contractors, Owners/Developers. Create product demand and Brand preference with these influencers.
Create and pursue opportunities within the Washington DC market.
Provide AIA presentations to design community to further engage potential clients.
Drive existing and new product sales. Effectively gain specifications / acceptance of new products among key influencers.
Provide insight to the A&D community regarding new product opportunities, marketplace trends, and competitive feedback.
Support our sales reps and assist in project pursuit and specification / approvals.
Participate in relationship building Industry events, trade shows, associations, affiliations, etc.
Follow up on all leads generated that apply to the A&D community.
Support coordination and execution of company events as assigned Provide internal support to sales team
Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Manage fabric/finish library.
Requirements
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in sales, marketing, business, or related discipline required.
At least 5 years of sales/account management experience in industrial, commercial, or architectural sales with documented examples of closing targeted customers and/or projects.
Proven success selling to architectural, designer and/or engineering disciplines.
Must possess strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly.
Organized, disciplined and a self-starter.
Must have strong fundamental management skills such as business acumen, leadership skills, negotiation skills, conceptual and analytical skills, extensive product knowledge, financial aptitude, interpersonal effectiveness and decisiveness.
Formal presentations skills.
