Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Group Sales Manager, this key role supports important work related to helping our agents sell products to employer groups, retain those groups and encourage agents. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, adept at multi-tasking, and driven to work at a fast pace individually but wired to solve problems cooperatively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
Follow up group quoting opportunities as they're identified in a timely manner and in accordance with company process
Provide unique and creative solutions to agents in order to win each case, overcoming objections when they arise
Outbound calls to agents to identify unquoted opportunities, inform about new products and encourage sales activity
Follow up with agents on groups renewing a line of business, ensuring retention and encouraging the sale of additional lines of business
Handle and address service issues involving group members, agents, carriers and administrators in a team-based environment
Support account executives in calling campaigns, arranging promotional materials, and helping to present to agencies and/or employer groups
Owns and manages the relationship between Direct Benefits and key carrier partner(s)
Act as the key liaison between Direct Benefits and carrier partners with product changes and in on-boarding new products
Processing new group paperwork and transmitting to carriers
Setting up agent contracting, including general agency hierarchies, acquisitions and agent of record changes
Other ad hoc requests as needed and directed by supervisor
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in an office environment in a role that demands a sense of urgency, multi-tasking, and working in a team-based environment

Strong written communication skills
Comfort and skill in a phone sales environment
Motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance atmosphere
Bonus Qualifications
Experience in an insurance agency, carrier, underwriter or administrator
Previous experience or acquired knowledge about the insurance/benefits industry
Bilingual Spanish/English
Licensed as a producer in Accident/Life/Health in Minnesota or another state
