Summary:
This role is a key member of the Strategic Growth Capabilities Team, working closely with each SGC function, our Sales Teams, our Business Units and the various cross-functional groups that support our Prepared business. The Sr. Manager Consolidation and Planning is responsible to develop tools, processes and training as well as drive business initiatives to support Tyson’s Prepared portfolio. The Sr. Manager reports to the Senior Director, Sales Strategy & Planning.
Additional assigned responsibilities include leadership of SGC-specific AOP planning, goal development and communication; manages the SGC inputs for the monthly PBR/QBR; publishes weekly and monthly business performance tracking; consolidation of weekly supply and inventory status; leadership and coordination of EDGE programs; best practice lead on price communication and allocation management; consolidates and leads the weekly RPSOP Commercial meeting; and, ownership of SSR resource and content.
Key interactions: SGC VP, SS&P Senior Director, SS&P counterparts, Field Sales teams, Brand Teams, Business Units, Trade Optimization, Strategic Pricing, Marketing Analytics, Demand and Supply Planning, Finance and Category Development. Participation in customer presentations is also a key part of this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the cross-functional work to develop tools, processes and training to ensure the AOP and supporting analysis is consistently developed and clearly communicated across our retail sales organization.
Responsible for tracking, consolidating and communicating each BU’s business performance through monthly reporting to support the PBR/QBR reviews as well as supporting SS&P business intelligence
Develops and publishes KPI tracking to support SS&P decision making (e.g., master distribution grids)
Principal driver of Tyson Growth Story, including coordinating refreshed content from cross-functional partners, publishing and occasionally presenting to both internal and external partners
Owns the consolidation and facilitation of the weekly RPSOP meeting
Acts as the best practice lead for Prepared-wide initiatives (i.e., price increase communication, allocations, DPS, etc.)
Leads sales planning process for overall Sales Strategy & Planning
Initiates and facilitates the seasonal EDGE plans (Holiday, Super Bowl, Grilling and Back to School)
Owns the consolidation and communication of the weekly supply and product inventory status and allocation submission
Responsible to maintain the SSR with relevant and updated content
Develops effective internal and external communications, leveraging category, consumer and marketplace insights
Influence and embed a revitalized joint growth planning initiative with our key customer teams and key customers
Establishes and maintains relationships with field sales to facilitate understanding and effective category/trade management
Leads ad-hoc category requests and projects as necessary
Model behaviors that support the Tyson Foods 5Cs leadership principles
Establishes, nurtures, and maintains productive working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders
Forecasts and manages attainment of gross sales goal and trade/slotting budget of assigned categories, while collaborating with field sales to ensure brand aligned execution
Ensures tactical adherence to Category Business Plan and trade spending strategy/direction across all channels. Provides input to development of the category AOP
Develops 4Ps tactics aligned to category strategies
Monitors and tracks key performance indicators and 4Ps objectives
Ensures Trade program effectiveness and efficiency is maximized and monitors trade spending
Leads and maintains sales goal and trade allocation process and program for assigned categories
Analyzes business through data mining (primarily through internal/proprietary systems) and close contact with field sales for additional intelligence
Oversees product allocation, if necessary
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required. MBA or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience: 7 years of experience – working with North American packaged goods categories preferred.
Headquarter and field sales and/or branded marketing experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Highly developed skillset within Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills: Communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and drive change broadly across an Organization.
Special Skills:
Effective presentation building and story-telling skills
Strong financial acumen including in-depth financial analysis and resulting impact to business.
Working through ambiguity while creating, leading and embedding new capabilities across an organization
Expert-level analytical ability using proprietary and syndicated data sources.
Demonstrated experience in effective project management, sales planning and category analytics.
Travel: Some travel may be required
