**Job Description:**Boart Longyear is hiring a new Global S&OP / SIOP Leader. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer for now and work hand in hand with other departments within Boart Longyear, an international Mining & Metals company operating in approximately 20 countries. If you have previous experience in inventory forecasting or planning, this may be the next step for you.**Minimum Qualifications:** 5 yearsu2019 experience Operational knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning (SIOP) process including demonstrated success in leading S&OP/ SIOP improvements across a global demand/supply network 5 yearsu2019 experience Leading Supply Chain or operations in a multi-plant manufacturing and distribution environment, or experience in leading a financial planning process Leading a global matrix functional organization, including demand-supply planning, production scheduling, logistics, inventory management, Quality & Sourcing Operating across geographic and cultural boundaries Application of principles of six sigma & lean within a manufacturing environment Planning and managing successful projects Demonstrated understanding of the manufacturing process including changeover and set up, product lines, application and customer usage**Additional Qualifications/skills:****1. Knowing Our Customers**Have an intimate knowledge of our customers, product lines and operations in order to provide differentiated value to our customers while supporting the overall goals of BLY.**2. Development of S&OP/ SIOP Strategy**Develops and executes the BLY S&OP/SIOP process. The Global S&OP/SIOP Leader will provide the following insights specifically related to the S&OP/SIOP process: Relevant use of knowledge of macroeconomic indicators and sales trends, market trends, competitor strategies and customer needs Support to the development of long-range capacity planning strategies using modeling systems that financially evaluate capacity options Uses a decision structure to align S&OP/SIOP recommendations and decisions to constraints (working capital, inventory, capacity, lead-times)**Metrics** Operating margin goal Working Capital goal Service Metrics**3. Executing S&OP/ SIOP Strategy**Implements the S&OP/ SIOP process by balancing the global supply network across the businesses and regions to effectively meet demand projections and deliver on our commitments to customers and exceed our business results, including: Gaining alignment to demand outlook within the S&OP horizon Preparing forecast risk/ opportunity assessments to drive trade-off discussions Identifying key issues that can result in global business impact and drive decisions to solve Balancing global demand and supply across the regions and the various BLY businesses Creating supply plans with commitments to optimize service levels, working capital, capacity utilization, and EBITA**Metrics** Operating margin goal Working capital goal Service metrics S&OP/ SIOP compliance**4. Directing S&OP/ SIOP Operations** Conducts Global Executive S&OP/ SIOP meetings, ensures alignment of and leadership of Regional and Working S&OP/ SIOP meetings, communicates and follows up on implementation of S&OP/ SIOP decisions Drives forecast creation process with sales and product management (which own the forecast), the reviews and demand consensus generation. Drives supply commitment process with supply chain and manufacturing (which own the supply plans), the reviews and supply commitment decisions. Ensures that BLY businesses maintain accurate records of forecasts, capacity, production plans, import-export flows, transit levels, inventory and other data necessary to the efficient implementation of the S&OP/ SIOP process Drives standardization of demand forecasting and supply (inventory, production) planning practices globally Develops and tracks S&OP/ SIOP Process Indicators and service metrics Forecast accuracy, schedule adherence, OTIF, process compliance Drive Continuous Improvement for S&OP/ SIOP to achieve Word Class process (Bench marking with Industry /Best in Class and waste elimination) Contributes to annual operating budgeting plan consistent with near-term requirements for financial and non-financial performance and long-term strategic requirements**Metrics** Order Fill Rates or Perfect Order (OTIF) Delivery cost Inventory Quality Working capital**5.
