Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall customer and business development for the Tyson prepared portfolio in the Upstate New York market. The customers include Wegmans Food Markets and Tops/Price Chopper (Northeast Grocers). Direct selling responsibilities include but are not limited to achieving sales volume and financial objectives; developing and maintaining strong and effective customer relationships; executing business unit initiatives and strategies; being a champion for upholding growing; stewarding Tyson culture and core values; and providing effective timely and concise communication throughout the internal and external organization as it pertains to the Tyson Foods business at these customers. This position is responsible for building category growth with our retailer partners; achieving distribution targets; developing promotional strategies within approved trade spending; and working closely with the Customer Category Team to ensure Tyson’s distribution is aligned with consumer behavior. Additional responsibilities include managing trade funds to stay within assigned budgets; properly planning expenses and staying within assigned travel and entertainment budgets; ensuring the timely resolution of financial reconciliation - both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable deduction management; and keeping management informed of market conditions competitive activity and marketplace intelligence.
Location: Must currently live, or be willing to relocate to: Within 3-4 hours driving distance to Wegmans Food Markets, Tops, and Price Chopper Headquarters – Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Schenectady NY.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Experience: 5 plus years of sales experience and or CPG protein experience selling in the supermarket channel.
Computer Skills: Requires advance computer skills to include generating spreadsheets presentations and reporting.
Communication SkilIs: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Direct selling experience. Required to work with internal teams such as Sales Planning Category Management Customer Service Returns and Allowances Logistics Financial.
Travel: Extensive regional travel
