As Business Development Mgr for E – Mobility, you will contribute towards deployment of the E-Mobility Strategy for India through the route of active partnerships with Central & State Governments and partnerships and by developing relationships and partnerships with Charge Point Operators in India to provide a wide network of chargers to our customers in the Shell Recharge app.
You will be responsible for engaging relevant stakeholders in the Government and Private organizations to understand EV infrastructure requirements, collaborate with these stakeholders to enable Shell's participation in Tenders, RFPs, Bids etc to expand the Shell Recharge network across India. Moreover, you are expected to create a large network of chargers on the Shell Recharge app combing both Shell controlled and partner-controlled charge points
What’s the role
As Business Development Mgr for E – Mobility, you will engage and build strong relationships with Central, State and Private Organizations to understand their requirements in the EV ecosystem and enable Shell's participation in Tenders/Bids/RFPs. In addition, you will create a network of chargers on the Shell Recharge digital platform by forming roaming agreements with multiple CPOs.
Engage the nodal agencies in the Central and State Governments responsible for deploying EV charging infrastructure in alignment with the India E-Mobility strategy to evaluate the upcoming projects/Tenders/RFPs in the EV space
Closely track the RFPs/Tenders/Bids for EV charging or battery swapping infrastructure
Closely work with Network, Finance and Operations team to successfully submit and secure a minimum of 3 large scale tenders for charge point deployment
Closely work with the GR team to create an advocacy program for Shell in the EV charging infrastructure space. Work with the engineering and operations to share best practices in the EV charging from other markets
Develop new business models and EV offers for RFPs/ tenders by forming partnerships with OEMs/leasing companies. Create a viable Vehicle as a Service(VAAS) solution for bids and tenders
Work with the fleet solutions team to develop an integrated value proposition for customer comprising of both Traditional and New Fuel offers
Create and deploy a business model for partnerships with Charge Point Operators to enable interoperability for Shell Recharge customers
Work closely with the IT team and the Digital manager to integrate the Shell Recharge digital platform with the partner’s digital platforms to create an interoperable network for customers while retaining strategic control over Brand and Customer data.
What we need from you
Minimum of 4 years of work experience in Commercial and Business development roles. Prior experience in Government Liaison roles would be preferred
Excellent interpersonal and external stakeholder management skills
Strong track record of relationship building, business development, leading successful negotiations and managing partner end processes
Strong knowledge of the Digital platforms covering aspects such as API integration, data transfer and privacy norms
Strong commercial mindset, highly numerate and able to quickly appraise the business opportunity and understand potential value, risks and trade-offs.
Curiosity and an ability to seek out relevant new solutions to jointly develop areas of collaboration with OEMs and location partners
Ability to work with cross functional teams to represent a 'One Team' to the customer/partner
Excellent stakeholder management skills: comfortable managing both external relationships & large range of internal stakeholders to successfully deliver EV charging opportunities
Strong track record in delivering commercial opportunities and in managing complex projects
A strong commercial acumen: being comfortable with complex business models and deal structures in what is a new commercial business for Shell
Well-developed project & opportunity management skills. Being able to lead and drive work across multiple workstreams to ensure the successful delivery of an opportunity across its lifecycle.
A customer centric mindset, ensuring that our network serves the needs of all (B2C & B2B) customers.
A passion for the energy transition, and to help Shell to serve the customers of the future
In terms of location Bangalore and Mumbai would be the first preference.
