Job Description:
As Senior Business Development Manager , you will provide leadership for the licensing and catalyst business, which is comprised of global business/customer facing teams. You will be accountable for identifying and leading the development and implementation of new application space in Chemicals, Refining, Digital solutions and process technologies focused on novel processes as well as marketing expertise. In this role, you will need to understand market trends and identify technologies to help deliver individual business strategies through catalyst/technology differentiation.
Specific accountabilities include:
Evaluating opportunity value propositions, prioritizing and driving project delivery while working closely with the Marketing organization to understand market strategies and develop opportunities based on market size, financials, internal value, etc., and at the same time defining value propositions for stakeholders.
Identifying and building relationships with technology organizations and manage relationships with identified technology organizations to build connections and establish potential opportunities. In line with this, you will work with Shell Research & Development (R&D) and business managers to understand business drivers and work to deliver technology solutions. You will also identify potential partners for technology development within Shell and 3rd parties, working with the regional sales teams, general managers, and marketing managers to evaluate and drive new projects.
Lead the development of new businesses towards successful and sustainable market positions, allowing incorporation into existing catalyst business lines.
Developing and leading the catalyst and licensing group digital strategy with close integration with the Shell digital team, setting priorities for the Digital Strategy Manager and defining the digital partnering strategy.
Providing input for new catalyst R&D's product development.
Communicating the New Business Development process and engaging business stakeholders in developing concepts for the combined organization.

Requirements:
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree ideally in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or any related field.
Ability to identify opportunities along with sufficient technical knowledge around catalyst and related processes.
Proven experience with identifying and contacting potential new business partners is desirable.
Strong commercial skills, knowledge and flexibility in identifying and implementing a wide variety of partnership and joint-development agreements. Additionally, strong history of commercial delivery and ability to manage stakeholders and coach junior staff
Knowledge and prior use of 4D diagnostic selling tools is an advantage.
Ability to negotiate complex agreements.
Success in this role is being skilled in understanding and managing sources of contractual risk and converting in-principle deals into finished contracts, hence being able to manage risks appropriately. Equally as important, is being able to interface with Intellectual Property (IP), Anti-trust, and Contract Lawyers to ensure compliance.
