What's the role -
This is an exciting & demanding role to expand Shell’s ability to power mobility, strengthen Shell Retail’s EV charging business and contribute to Shell Group’s net carbon footprint ambition.
This role has the responsibility to develop and implement electric vehicle (EV) charging business models beyond the Retail forecourt that will extend the reach and scale of Shell Recharge in US & Canada. EV charging approaches could include developing strategic and commercial relationships with destination charging locations (e.g. movie theaters, car parks, shopping centers, real estate companies) as well as looking for new stand-alone charging hub opportunities.
This role has the responsibility to develop & manage a series of business opportunities to extend EV charging beyond the Shell Retail forecourts.
Reporting to the Head of e-Mobility Americas, you will:
Engage potential location partners and develop a pipeline of opportunities, including leading commercial negotiations & supporting contracting
Develop and manage opportunities across the various stages of opportunity realization: from initial assessment through to implementation & operation
Working with other members of the team, define and create relevant EV charging offers for forecourts, destinations & hubs opportunities
Propose & develop value add opportunities with partners, to increase utilization or otherwise bring more value from the partnership
After going live, you will continue managing the account ensuring best in class customer experience.
You will also work extensively across Shell Retail team to ensure that new locations compliment and build on the existing Shell Retail plans:
Network planning: site selection
Engineering: site design, safety, network build & operations
Marketing & pricing: activation and utilization
This role will be based in California and be working remotely.
Skills and Requirements
What We Need from You -
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least 5 years business development/account management experience within EV space
Bachelor’s degree
Deep understanding of e-Mobility Ecosystem and value chain
Strong track record in delivering commercial opportunities and in managing complex projects
Highly numerate & comfortable with Excel & PowerPoint
Comfortable in-front of customers with great negotiation skills
Excellent interpersonal & stakeholder management skills
Energy, flexibility and self-starter mentality
Passion for the Energy Transition
Other skills that will be essential for you to be successful in this role are:
A strong commercial acumen: being comfortable with complex business models and deal structures in what is a new commercial business for Shell
Well developed project & opportunity management skills. Being able to lead and drive work across multiple workstreams to ensure the successful delivery of an opportunity across its lifecycle.
A customer centric mindset, ensuring that our network serves the needs of all (B2C & B2B) customers.
