Description
The Market VP, Employer Group Sales leads the strategy development and execution of the sales force. The Market VP, Employer Group Sales requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide. He/she will establish long-range goals, objectives, and plans; monitors financial and operational performance; and coordinates activities of leaders and their respective functions including new sales, retention, engagement, and sales support.
Responsibilities
The Market VP, Employer Group Sales serves as a key contributor and influencer of the segment-wide strategy, notably in the areas of market-based customer, broker and partners insights; value proposition architecture; and go-to-market tools, processes and people. The Employer Group Sales organization is responsible for the execution of these growth objectives across sales, client management, retention, and consumer engagement activities. This role is of particular importance as this individual will serve as the face of the market for Humana's 'home region' with direct responsibility for the regional salesforce across small group, private and public sector, and large group sales pursuit and retention strategies.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's Degree of Business Administration or a related field.
Ability to effectively manage a sales and sales operations team across a region.
Experience building and leading high performing local sales and/or account management teams across a large complex market.
Prioritizes innovative thinking and approaches toward profitable 'top line' revenue growth while being disciplined and planful to ensure success in the region.
Displays a high level of business maturity, flexibility and formidable resolve to energize and inspire teams to strive for greatness.
Experience building and maintaining consultative relationships that bring mutual value.
Exceptional presentation and communication skills with an ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders and partners.
Strong organizational and planning skills that are used to strategically position the region to meet the demands of an ever-changing marketplace.
Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences and the health of members.
Ability to travel throughout the local market and other locations (e.g., corporate headquarters in Louisville).
Large Group health insurance sales leadership experience preferred.
Valid state health and life insurance licenses.
