Responsibilities:
Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain an account list while meeting quarterly and annual revenue goals
Create advertising sales strategies, proposals, and presentations for core and new accounts
Engage and strategize with agencies and clients to determine their business needs and formulate ad sales programs
Establish and cultivate strong relationships by conducting face to face sales calls and client entertainment
Proactively communicate account forecasts and sales information to sales management
Communicate account leads and proposal updates to print and/or corporate sales teams
Requirements:
Rolodex/relationships with top-tier interactive/traditional advertising agencies and leading marketers; strong client contacts desired
Proven track record of revenue growth.
Experience selling custom content programs a plus
Business development acumen; the ability to consult with marketers and in effect treat them as programmers who are creating content that will leverage the power of their brand
Competency in strategic thinking and demonstrated success in working with internal and external departments developing successful sales campaigns is a must
Ability to adjust and refocus in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
Strong presentation and closing skills based on field experience with major accounts
Demonstrated ability to craft and tell a compelling story around passion points
An action-oriented self-starter who can take limited direction and produce tangible results
Ability to make good decisions in a timely manner based on analysis, experience, judgment and wisdom; sought out by others for advice and counsel
Skillful negotiator in tough situations with both internal and external groups; can effectively settle differences with minimum disruption to relationships and the process; is direct and forceful yet diplomatic; gains the trust of other parties quickly
An individual who is known in the marketplace and brings established contacts in the Chicago area.
