ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:


Assures
that the philosophy and mission of Mercy Hospital-Des Moines is visual in
the Gift House & Flowers operation.
Maintain
good knowledge of merchandise and prices in the floral shop.
Follows
policies and procedure for the gift house and flower shop.
Follows
directions of the manager.
Trains
others in the operation of the floral shop.
Attends
floral vendor functions as directed and approved by manager.
Oversees
floral shop operations.
Works
with manager to build the floral business both within the hospital and
outside.
Confer
with clients regarding price and type of arrangement desire.
Price
completed arrangements competitively.
Select
flora and foliage for arrangements, working with numerous combinations to
develop new creations.
Maintain
a full floral cooler in main and other pertain areas.
Orders
basic supplies for the floral shop area.
Order
and purchase flowers and supplies from wholesales achieving best cost.
Maintain
a low waste with all flora and foliage.
Record
all flora and foliage credits from wholesalers and turn in to manager
monthly.
Clean
and prep all flora and foliage from wholesalers.
Perform
general cleaning duties in shop to ensure the shop is clean and tidy.
Unpack
stock as it comes into the shop.
Work
with manager on Holiday planning events.
Deliver
flowers from the flower room to the gift shop in the morning and
afternoon.
Maintain
an open communication with manager.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


High
school diploma or GED required.
One
year experience in floral design.
