What’s the role?
The Indirect Business Development – Office Based Account Manager (OBAM) will be responsible to:
Find, qualify and manage leads for Lubricants in the Transport, Industry and Consumer sectors in line with target areas.
Make outbound customer inquiries via different channels (e.g. phone call, email or social platforms)
Input customer data into SalesForce in a timely and organized fashion and ensure adequate follow-up with the BDMs and Team Leaders.
Screen, qualify and schedule appointments for in field Business Development Managers or Distributor’s Sales Reps.
Accountabilities
Using internal and external databases, and requests received (e.g. through website contacts or requests from distributors), build a large pipeline of potential leads in line with the priorities (geography, sector and accounts size) of the Indirect BD teams.
Develop a clear and articulated operational plan to deliver agreed volume and quality of leads and appointments targets. Manage the top leads within pipeline, demonstrating leadership and structure around Sales 1st, being a champion of Salesforce.
Execute structured outbound customer inquiries via phone call, text message, email, social platforms and review sites calls. Qualify, prioritize leads and pass on warm leads to the BDMs or Distributor’s Sales Reps. When directed, setup appointments for the BDMs, coordinating ahead of time the scheduling possibilities.
Understand customer business models, value drivers, challenges and opportunities to tailor approach and tactics depending on sectors and geography to consistently increase the conversion rate from outbound calls to warm leads and appointments.
Build a strong understanding of the different Customer Value Propositions and of a value selling approach.
Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders within Indirect (and Direct if needed) teams, and work closely and effectively with key internal resources, mostly Indirect BD community and Marketing.
Have working knowledge of the key local competitors and understand their strengths and weaknesses thereby exploiting opportunities arising from these.
Identify and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) solutions, contribute to knowledge sharing and learning culture with Sales team to develop sales and marketing expertise.
Comply with Shell regulations and policies, especially Health, Safety, Security, and Environment. Act in a responsible and proactive way in handling safety matters. Develop and maintain working knowledge of competition law.

Requirements:
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 2 years of sales or telemarketing/inside/external sales experience, prior Call Center experience preferred.
Strong customer focus, relationship building, phone and communication skills.
Experience of selling brand value required.
Strong analytical skills, IT literacy on all Office Programs, SalesForce and Internet research tools.
Understanding of the distributor channel and lubricants markets preferred.
Working knowledge of Shell sales, Supply Chain and OtC processes.
Organized with mastery level time management and prioritization skills, tenacious follow up and strong work ethic.
