As a contributing team member, the Sales Account Manager will report directly to a Food Service Team Lead. The position will have regular interactions with the Team Lead and other Regional Sales Managers, while focused on cultivating relationships with assigned CCA – Emerging Chains. This person will be accountable for building relationships, defending core business, selling in new items, negotiating contracts, and prioritizing efforts against plan. This position is expected to work cross-functionally with various business units and trade teams to build new business, perform against strategic product initiatives, protect the core business, and create a competitive advantage, while attaining mix and volume targets within our value-added product tiers. Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and foster professional relationships with assigned Emerging Chain Accounts within the market to achieve business objectives.
Gather and maintain key insight for all assigned accounts including:
Size of business
Product opportunities
Competitive set
Timing and potential hurdles
Customer strategies
Track progress using the CRM tools provided, reporting status so all applicable parties are aware.
Manage all strategic initiatives.
Work with Customer Development, Business Units, Revenue Management, Supply Planning, Distribution Team, Culinary, R&D, and broker counterparts as needed, to deliver against sales plans by managing customer business reviews, customer and innovation presentations, pricing programs, expense management, complaint and deduction resolution.
Must be able to deliver against assigned volume, goals, and execute price strategies within the marketplace, manage spend associated with the volume and manage the mix of product sold.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 3 years outside sales experience (Food Service, Food Service Manufacturing or Distributor Sales)
Education: Bachelor's degree
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate virtually externally and internally.
Special Skills: Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, understanding of motivational leadership skills, conflict resolution skills, and building strong connections.
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products, including TEAMS. Zoom and CRM proficiency preferred.
Travel: 30 - 50%
Relocation assistance available for those who qualify under Tyson relocation policy.
Preferred location: Southern CA, LA, Orange County, San Diego
