Position Summary:
This role is a key member of the Sales Strategy Planning team developing and executing the national sales strategy and fiscal year plan for the Hillshire Farm Lunchmeat and Gallo businesses. The Sr. Sales Planning Analyst reports to the Sr. Sales Strategy Planning Manager primarily interacting with field sales category management brand marketing supply chain finance and the strategic growth and capabilities team. Primary responsibilities orient around tracking and analyzing brand category performance merchandising and distribution monitoring forecasting trade fund management and ownership of a small customer category or regional business. The Sr. Sales Planning Analyst role is a great development opportunity allowing for solid experience working in a team based cross functional environment. There is significant exposure to building and executing strategies for leading national brands along with bringing that vision to a highly sophisticated selling organization. Self-starters with strong sense of ownership are desired in this role. Innate curiosity along with the willingness and ability to learn quickly are valued.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tracks reports and analyzes the performance of the category brand and key products through internal data and external syndicated data platforms. Actively provides insight and analysis to reveal marketplace strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats through the lens of 4P s guidance product pricing promotion and placement. Forecasting inputs based on intelligence from key customer teams focusing on merchandising distribution pricing and innovation. Supports sales and category planning process providing fact-based insight and developing priorities that result in optimal outcome for the organization. Key point of contact for connecting field sales teams to the internal business unit. Management of sales strategy planning and trade budget for regional businesses. Adhoc responsibilities and work on overall sales strategy and planning group initiatives and platforms with desire to actively build a stronger team and organization. Provides key input to demand and financial forecasts. Manages ad-hoc category requests and projects as necessary. Model behaviors that support the Tyson Foods 5C s leadership principles. Establishes nurtures and maintains productive working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required and transferrable work experience preferred.
Experience: 3 years relevant experience in customer trade marketing sales marketing and sales analytics or category management in the CPG industry.
Computer Skills: Expert level competency relative to syndicated analytics Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Significant experience with IRI or Nielsen syndicated data strongly preferred.
Specials Skills: Analytical skills; demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and make recommendations. Critical thinker. Multi-tasking and ability to prioritize in fast paced environment with little direction from management.
Communication Skills: Communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with sales organization and internal BU Supply Chain partners.
Travel: 1-3 trips per year
