US Sales Director, Nutanix Hybrid Multi-Cloud (NC2)

About the role

The Nutanix Hybrid Multi-Cloud US Sales Director is responsible for owning the plan for the success of Nutanix running on Public Hyperscalers and Global Cloud Scalers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, OVHcloud, Equinix.metal and Cyxtera, exceeding pipegen, bookings and deployment/consumption goals. This business unit is called NC2 (Nutanix Cloud Clusters).

The Sales Leader will also be expected to matrix manage the rest of the aligned NC2 resources in the US – namely Product Specialists and Solution Architects. This team serves as a resource to drive adoption and successful achievement of NC2.

In this role, you will have nationwide responsibility (direct and matrix) carrying the USA quota. As well as meeting and exceeding quota you will be expected to have expertise in Public Cloud and Native Cloud Services, to build meaningful Executive relationships with the Hyperscalers and Cloud Scalers and to orchestrate large and complex deal structures. As a subscription business, adoption is critical and you will be measured on this and expected to drive a consistent sales motion that focuses on adoption and delivering business outcomes for our customers. You will report to the Global NC2 Sales Leader.

About the team

Our Portfolio Products Specialists and Solutions Architects organization is made up of around 90 specialists and solution architects across 3 theaters (AMER, EMEA, APAC). This group supports our entire global sales and pre-sales organization to drive the adoption of our Portfolio Products. Our Portfolio Product Specialists and Solution Architects team are responsible for supporting an ever-growing set of Nutanix Portfolio Products and solutions focused on Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud Management, Unified Storage, Database, DaaS/EUC and Cloud.

Requirements

Lead the Sales Reps (directly) and Portfolio Product Specialists & Solution Architects (indirectly) selling new software subscriptions in an overlay capacity with an adopt and expand methodology for rapid growth.

Activate the core sales teams to ensure high participation rates from our large core sales team in NC2 pipegen and bookings

Drive operational rigour to track growth and pipeline against team goals with operational effectiveness to meet and exceed quarterly quotas for our NC2 (pipegen, bookings and adoption).

Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers and Alliance Partners (Microsoft, AWS, OVHCloud, Cyxtera and Equinix)

Orchestrate complex deals structures with competitive knowledge, use case strategies, and expansion opportunities.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and leaders within Nutanix, such as Channel, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and Global Alliances.

Management responsibility (direct and matrix) for Sales Leaders, Portfolio Product Specialists and Solution Architects from a global perspective, this may include recruiting, mentoring, training, quarterly check-ins, escalation conversations, etc.

Ability to travel globally about 50% of the time.

Key Objectives

To own the US plan for the success of NC2, including exceeding goals.

To build direct Executive relationships with the AWS, Azure, OVHcloud, Equinix.metal & Cyxtera sales organizations to maximise the success of Nutanix Cloud offering.

To support a smooth launch of new service offerings and releases into the Cloud ecosystem.

To collaborate with the Worldwide Team on pricing, marketing, collateral, and product feedback.

To work with the existing Channel and GSI organization to ensure that they are ‘Multicloud Ready’ and fully capitalise on this opportunity.

To support the recruitment of new AWS (and eventually Azure) partners.

To work with the Marketing Teams to ensure that Multicloud positioning is amplified Globally.

To grow the Nutanix brand pertaining to multi-cloud, the ‘face of Nutanix’, including PR, blogs and other Social Media initiatives.

To evaluate and develop Alliances that will drive the multi-cloud success.

To align closely with the Nutanix services organization to drive services that support adoption.

Preferred Experience

You have 10 years of successful experience as a Technology Sales Leader.

Prior management experience (5 years or more) is highly desirable.

Prior Business unit management (5 years) is highly desirable.

You possess deep knowledge of cloud, virtualization, and management/operations technologies.

You have experience working with the hybrid Multicloud eco-system including but not limited to AWS, Azure, OVHcloud, Equinix.metal & Cxytera

You have experience of building GTM plans to support business objectives

You have strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.

You are a humble leader with a bias for action.

You have experience building new product businesses and selling new technologies with a focus on product adoption and expansion.

You have a history of co-ownership and execution on ambitious growth plans.

You operate with a ‘whatever it takes' attitude and motivation to do whatever is necessary to assist in closing a deal.

You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant Science or Technology major.

You are someone with an entrepreneurial spirit with an affinity for collaboration and teamwork.

You are a self-starter who takes the initiative, works with limited direction, and has experience with companies pursuing and undergoing rapid growth.

Ability to travel up to 50%

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $319,200 and $478,800 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
