This new position requires a hands-on, self-starter to support multi-state sales and use tax compliance, property tax, technical tax research, and accounting impacts. The ideal candidate will have frequent interactions with all internal departments and customers.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eResponsibilities\u003cbr/\u003e• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns for multiple states\u003cbr/\u003e• Review sales and purchase data monthly for proper treatment and documentation for audit trail\u003cbr/\u003e• Identify and confirm all sales tax exemption data is collected and maintained\u003cbr/\u003e• Support sales and use tax audits, including documentation and information gathering\u003cbr/\u003e• Provide sales and use tax consulting to procurement and other buyers in organization\u003cbr/\u003e• Research sales and use tax issues to ensure compliance with rules and regulations\u003cbr/\u003e• Provide recommendations on rules, processes, and transactions for efficient tax compliance\u003cbr/\u003e• Registration in new jurisdictions, as needed\u003cbr/\u003e• Maintenance of sales tax software and edits to sales tax rates due to new legislation\u003cbr/\u003e• Preparation of sales and use and property tax account reconciliations\u003cbr/\u003e• Recommend new workflows, process improvements, or other data management tools into existing tax processes\u003cbr/\u003e• Preparation of annual unclaimed property/escheatment returns and claims\u003cbr/\u003e• Support and/or prepare property tax compliance, along with managing payment processes and accounting\u003cbr/\u003e• Assist with Federal and State income tax returns, and annual income tax provision, as needed\u003cbr/\u003e• Support with tax notices and correspondence with state tax authorities\u003cbr/\u003e• Complete special projects as assigned\u003cbr/\u003e• Support other ad hoc tax projects and initiatives as needed\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eQualifications\u003cbr/\u003e• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field\u003cbr/\u003e• CPA preferred but not required\u003cbr/\u003e• 2-5 years of related experience in sales and use tax or experience in corporate environment\u003cbr/\u003e• Strong communication skills, ability to work in team environment, and comfortable communicating tax concepts to non-tax professionals\u003cbr/\u003e• Strong accounting, analytical and organizational skills\u003cbr/\u003e• Detail oriented, strong time management and organizational/record-keeping skills\u003cbr/\u003e• Strong computer skills: highly proficient in Excel\u003cbr/\u003e• Strong research, accounting ledger, and reconciliation skills\u003cbr/\u003e• Self-starter and resourceful attitude with minimal instruction needed to get things done – ability to take a new project and run with it.\u003cbr/\u003e• Self-starter and resourceful attitude with minimal instruction needed to get things done – ability to take a new project and run with it.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003ePhysical Demands and Work Conditions\u003cbr/\u003eThe physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
