GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Data Scientist is responsible for supporting the business by developing Integrated data solutions analyzing digital, data visualizations, customer and marketing datasets, interpreting results and developing actionable insights and recommendations for use across the company. This position will develop, test, and implement statistically sound customer models and other deep-dive analytical projects that directly grow both top and bottom line for DSW. The role will synthesize business data into powerful models and insights to drive decisions which propel the business forward.
In addition, the Customer Data Scientist will be responsible for data mining and testing against hypotheses which impact Key Performance Indicators. Ideal candidates enjoy working in demanding and fast-paced environments and are proactive, goal-oriented and team players.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*
*Integrate and aggregate complex data from multiple data sources and platforms that enhance business access to information and facilitate a data driven culture
*Develop Dashboards and reports to help analyze the performances of the various marketing programs *Create and automate reports/tools to quickly identify changes in trends/key metrics, elevate issues, and identify areas for improvement
*Analyze overall customer data trends to create and communicate actionable insights that help drive decision making *Produce ad-hoc queries that develop reports to support business needs *Turn business questions into functional analysis and identifies business opportunities and support the development of machine learning models and other statistics-based analytics *Translate business decisions into financial impact in terms of sales, margin, expense, and customer KPIs *Collaborates directly with key business partners and leaders to solve business problems or knowledge gaps and identify analytical opportunities to drive innovative decision making *Understands the broader Marketing and Retail landscapes to proactively identify analytical opportunities to impact the business
REQUIRED SKILLS:
*Excellent verbal communication skills for all audiences, both technical and non-technical
*Ability to create visualizations, summaries, and present complex analytical techniques, data, and recommendations in simple business speak
*Experience with Big Data environments
*Experience in data science programming languages (R, Python/Pandas)
*Exposure to data lakes, NoSQL and unstructured data
*Experience with enterprise reporting suites and data visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, Adobe, Google Analytics
*Experience working with capturing reporting on Current and Historical Data.
*Experience working with Transformations, Complex reports, Report Services Documents (Dashboards), Rolling Metrics
*Experience working with underlying databases and tables. Understands table relationships to be able to do dimensional modeling; understands lookup tables and fact tables.
*Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
*High degree of analytical curiosity including ability to identify and proactively solve problems
*Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, strong sense of ownership/accountability, and results oriented with the ability to manage time and schedules effectively.
EXPERIENCE:
*2+ years of experience in an analytical role
*2+ years of SQL (Teradata) development experience is required
*Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS)
*Experience with enterprise reporting suites (MicroStrategy, Adobe, Google Analytics)
*Familiarity with programming languages such as R and/or Python
*Communication skills including the ability to identify and communicate data driven insights
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*Master's Degree in Analytics or other STEM field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Applied Mathematics)
*Retail experience preferred.
EDUCATION:
*Bachelor's Degree in Analytics or other STEM field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Applied Mathematics) with 5+ of experience.
