Before Tracy was even old enough to drive a car, he was working jobs selling door-to-door as a youth. It was here that his sales drive and knack for persuasion were developed and cultivated. However, after he later dropped out of high school, Tracy floundered around the job market, working in a variety of jobs just to survive.
Tracy traveled around the U.S. and Canada, working in a variety of jobs, which included washing dishes, laboring on farms and in factories, pumping gas, and stacking lumber.
After a decade of job confusion, Tracy’s strong dedication to the selling industry was resurrected when he was 30 years old.
Tracy decided to move back home to California, where he was able to land a sales job. This sales job sparked Tracy’s interest, and he immediately became dedicated to achieving a career of sales success.
As Tracy progressed in his job, he quickly began to surprise himself with his ability to reach outstanding sales goals. By focusing on “high-value” tasks that would reap great job success, Tracy became an instant sales success at his job.
After reaching high peaks in his sales career, Tracy moved on to excel in several other businesses, eventually taking his career to a new level by teaching and mentoring others about sales strategy, sales tactics, and effective career mindsets for long-standing job success.
Over the years Tracy has built a solid reputation in the sales industry by launching and presiding over three companies and an online sales university, the Brian Tracy University. This university offers sales training and certificates for a variety of salespeople, wannabe sales pros, and business professionals.
Last year, BusinessWeek named Tracy among the top 10 brand names in the motivation and sales speaking industry.
Tracy has published a number of sales and speaking books to help businesspeople and salespeople develop and master the same effective skills he has. He is a top-selling sales and motivational author of over 45 books that have been translated into dozens of languages.
